Feis na nóg has been designed by Feis an Dúin to provide opportunities for our young people to showcase their cultural talents. It is open to all children aged 4-11 (Primary School) based in the Co.Down area. As the Feis is not designed specifically for schools or clubs, entries can be also made by any individual wishing to participate.
Entries are now open for the following categories:
1. Damhsa Seit / Set Dancing (2 figures)
2. Cór / Choir ( 1 piece not exceeding 5 minutes max)
3. Amhránaíocht Aonair / Solo Singing ( 1 piece not exceeding 5 minutes max)
As this is the first year of Feis na nÓg we want to start with 3 categories with the aim of building the Feis year on year to allow entries from other age groups and more categories. Please note Choir and Solo Singing entries can be As Gaeilge or Bi-lingual and should have some connection to the Irish language and culture. There is a small fee of £3 per entry.
Depending on demand, we may run a South Down and East Down competition to ensure all children get an opportunity to compete on stage. While this is a competition, the aim of the Feis to provide opportunities for young people to showcase their talents on stage for others and therefore an amateur approach should be taken by all feis entries. Competitions will take place over the weekend of 16th January 2026.
